KIAA and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have worked together since 2015 to support talented young scientists as KIAA-CAS fellows. The fellows are jointly supported by KIAA and NAOC. The research fellows investigate topics that are of mutual interest to core science areas of KIAA and CAS science, with some research in direct support of CAS observational facilities, LAMOST and FAST.
The KIAA-CAS fellowship has supported five postdoctoral fellows to date: Ye Li (high energy astrophysics), Min Du (galaxies), Su Yao (qasars), Yuanpei Yang (high energy/compact object theory), Xiaoting Fu (stars).
