Professor Carlos S. Frenk, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE), Fellowship of the Royal Society (FRS), is Director of the Institute for Computational Cosmology, Durham University's world-renowned theoretical cosmology research group. Along with collaborators from all over the world, he builds model universes in state-of-the-art supercomputers, trying to understand how the structures in our Universe evolved from simple beginnings to the complex structures composed of stars and galaxies that we see today. He has published more than

450 papers in the refereed scientific literature. His papers have been cited over 80,000 times (H-index 124), making him one of most cited authors ever in astronomy and space science in the world.
