KIAA Held the First Forum on Gas in Galaxies

The 1st KIAA Forum on Gas in Galaxies (KFGG): Star formation and Quenching was successfully held during the week 18-22 June. The conference accepted more than 100 attendees, more than half of which have a foreign affiliation. It had 6 sessions. The program included 10 invited talks and 39 contributed talks. More than 1/3 of the talks were contributed by female astronomers. 7 of the contributed talks were given by PhD. students. The highlights of the conference include


1) the discussion sub-session at the end of each session, moderated by the invited speakers of the session;
 
 
2) the active participation of the KIAA students;

 
 
3) the summary talk by the conference co-chair Lister Staveley-Smith at the end of the conference.
