The SkyMapper Southern Survey is a large area, multi-band optical survey covering the whole southern sky. In this talk I will briefly describe its data reduction pipeline and mosaic image pipeline. I will talk about the challenges we face, the way we overcome the difficulties, the improvement we have made, and the lessons we should take for future Chinese optical surveys. I will focus on my personal contribution.
