Dr. Z. Lucas Uhm awarded the Peking University Outstanding Postdoc Award 2014

On Dec. 26, 2014, Dr. Z. Lucas Uhm, a postdoctoral researcher at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA), was been awarded the Peking University Outstanding Postdoc Award of the year 2014. Peking University has over 900 postdocs working at different institutes and schools, and the University selected 19 awardees to acknowledge their excellent research performance.

Uhm has been working closely with Prof. Bing Zhang on the theoretical study of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and published three first-author papers in 2014. Earlier this year, Uhm and Zhang made a theoretical breakthrough in understanding the radiation mechanism of GRB prompt emission, and their work was published in Nature Physics in May, 2014.
