On April 24th 2019, Siyao Xu（徐思遥）was awarded the 2019 Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin Doctoral Dissertation Award in Astrophysics. This award was established by the Division of Astrophysics (DAP) of the American Physical Society (APS) and is funded by Heising-Simons Foundation. It annually recognizes an outstanding doctoral thesis in astrophysics.
Siyao Xu（徐思遥）
Siyao Xu was a doctoral student of Department of Astronomy, School of Physics at Peking University. Advised by Prof. Bing Zhang, Siyao Xu finished her dissertation research on magnetohydrodynamic turbulence in astronomy and earned her Ph.D. from Peking University in 2017. As one of the three finalists, Siyao Xu was invited to present her thesis work at the 2019 APS April Meeting and was selected by the Selection Committee as the recipient of the award.
