Resolving the Structure and Evolution of Galaxy Disks from Cosmic Noon to the Local Universe

A conference bringing together experts on the resolved structure of galaxy disks, from observers studying the local and high-redshift Universe to theorists and simulators, with the aim of building a coherent picture of how sub-galactic structures form, evolve, and influence galaxy evolution across cosmic time.

About the meeting

Sub-kiloparsec-resolution observations from JWST, ALMA, Keck, NOEMA, and the VLT now resolve star-forming regions and the multicomponent structure of disks across cosmic time. Imaging and spectroscopy are revealing physical processes, stellar populations, and some of their kinematics, but the resulting picture is fragmented across techniques, resolutions, and epochs. This meeting aims to connect the \(z > 1\) picture with the Local Universe and to bring observations together with theory and simulations.
