Science Opportunities with new ground based gravitational wave detectors in the Asian region

Abstract:

Gravitational wave detection has discovered events that indicate a surprisingly large population of binary black holes in the universe, and should soon be able to detect  coalescing neutron stars. This talk will look at the opportunities for this new field of astronomy, and show that new detectors in the Asian region,  a few times more sensitive than the current generation of detectors, has the opportunity to answer exciting new  questions in cosmology and astrophysics.
