Multiscale view of disk formation around low-mass stars

Disks around low-mass stars are important for star and planet formation. However, only recently that we are able to detect and study the early stages of disk formation in detail.   Yet, not all of the embedded protostars show the presence of disks. The disk formation problem relies on understanding both the large-scale structure that is feeding the disk and the disk structure.  Observational and modeling works are underway to tie these two scales together in order to obtain a complete picture of the disk formation process.  See Speaker
