Modelling Stellar Populations of Star Clusters

With a focus on the results of direct N-body simulations performed on GPU special-purpose hardware, the current status of  models applicable to studying open and globular cluster evolution will be reviewed. Particular attention will be paid to the role  of stellar-mass black-hole binaries in the cluster models as well as the production (or lack) of exotic binaries such as  cataclysmic variables and binary millisecond pulsars. Future steps to further enhance the modelling and our understanding of  star clusters will be discussed.
